Media and Communication graduate from Tamale Technical University, Ibrahim Jazeel Abanga, has achieved a dream come true by meeting President John Dramani Mahama in person after completing a daring solo bicycle journey from Tamale to Accra.
His remarkable feat was in support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the President’s January 7, 2025, inauguration ceremony.
Abanga began his journey on January 1, 2025, riding through the principal streets of Tamale and navigating the Northern and Ashanti Regions before reaching Greater Accra.
His goal was to witness the swearing-in of the NDC Leader and President-elect, a moment he described as a testament to his unwavering belief in the party and its leadership.
Despite his determination, Abanga’s journey was fraught with challenges.
He revealed that efforts to secure support from NDC executives in the Northern Region proved unsuccessful. Undeterred, he embarked on the hazardous trip without sponsorship, security, or emergency assistance.
This sparked concerns from residents of the Northern Region, who feared for his safety on the long and unpredictable roads.
“This journey is not just about witnessing the swearing-in; it is a testament to my dedication to the NDC and the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
I believe in the cause, and this is my way of showing it,” Abanga stated before reaching Accra.
His commitment did not go unnoticed. Upon completing the journey and attending the swearing-in ceremony, Abanga was granted a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet President Mahama in person.
The meeting symbolized the connection between the NDC leadership and its grassroots supporters, highlighting the unity and passion that drive the party forward.
