Asamankese, located in the West Akim Municipal District of the Eastern Region, is currently experiencing a state of insecurity following a violent clash between two prominent chiefs.
The incident occurred when Osaberima Adu Dorbo III, the Chief of Asamankese, and Odikuro Pubi Asomeni, the Chief of Arasa, a village under Asamankese, came into conflict during a public durbar.
The violence erupted at a ceremony where Osaberima Adu Dorbo III was present to cut the sod for the construction of a durbar grounds in Market B.
During the commissioning event, tensions escalated when Osaberima Adu Dorbo III, accompanied by armed men, arrived at the site.
In a dramatic turn of events, gunshots were fired in an apparent attempt to disrupt the proceedings, creating panic and fear among the attendees.
