The leader of Alive Chapel International Bishop Salifu Amoako has blasted his church members for attacking journalists at the High Court in Accra.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of Elrad Amoako, whose actions led to a crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in East Legon appeared before the Accra Circuit Court on16 October 2024,
Angry church members of Alive Chapel International confronted journalists who were there to cover proceedings when the parents of the minor appeared before the Accra Circuit court.
According to the man of God, some of his church members came to the court to disgrace him and not support him.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Alive Chapel International for the first time since the tragedy, Bishop Salifu said, “Control yourselves, ACI family. I urge you to have self-control. Some of you came to the court to disgrace me there. You didn’t behave wisely. You have added more battles to my battles already. What you came to do at the court is very disgraceful. You shouldn’t have done that”.
“Do you know the damage you have done in my life? Now I am fighting what has happened to me and the media is fighting me. The case is now in court. We don’t go to court to fight, but we go there to interpret the law, he added.
Bishop Salifu also noted that the members who came to the court and attacked the journalist are very lucky they were not arrested. “Some of you were lucky that you were not arrested. Some of you went there to mess up. By now, you should be in jail. So, I don’t expect any one of you, I have not called you to come and fight for me. Now listen to me, I have not called you to come and fight for me,” Bishop Salifu Amoako noted.
