Gabby Otchere Darkp has rendered an unqualified apology to erstwhile Chairperson of Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei.
His apology comes after he made a post on social media claiming Charlotte Osei had benefitted from public lands.
In an X post which he has since deleted, Gabby claimed Member of Parliament (MP)
for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa had turned a blind eye to properties sold by governments of the NDC, including a property opposite Asaase Radio which the former EC chairperson occupies, and had the guts to falsely accuse Asaase Broadcasting Company Limited owned him (Gabby) of being on state land.
“I’ve received a private message from Mrs. @char_osei clarifying that her land, which is close to the Asaase building, was purchased privately, like the property occupied by Asaase, from a private person, Berchie, back in 2007. Apologies for any reference erroneously attributed to her and retraction of same,” he stated.
Charlotte Osei who did not take this comment likely clapped back at Gabby. Responding to Gabby’s post on X.
Parts of her post read, “Rich of you to complain about being lied on and yet tell blatant lies about another person. Please sue @S_OkudzetoAblak. I would love to do the same.
I have NEVER benefitted from public lands. Do some search and find out I bought my land in a commercial transaction in 2007.”
Following this public confrontation, Gabby Otchere Darko apologized to Charlotte Osei on X. He indicated that he had a private message from Charlotte Osei, who made known that the land in question was purchased from a private individual, Berchie, in 2007.
