Also, Ghanaian US-based social media commentator Twene Jonas has paid tributes to the late Charles Kojo Fosu, commonly known as Daddy Lumba.

Speaking in a viral TikTok video, Twene Jonas emphasised that Daddy Lumba is gone with Ghana music.

According to Twene Jonas, the songs Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie are doing are just noise in the ears of Ghanaians.

Twene Jonas in the viral video stated, “Daddy Lumba, we will miss you, because if you are gone, you are gone with Ghana music. Those things Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie are singing are just noise in our ears; they are not music.

Daddy Lumba is the real definition of music. I am not here singing praises because he is no more; if he were a bad person, I would have said it”.

The controversial Twene Jonas added, “His songs were good, and I always related to them. When Adwenepahene died, I mourned Daddy Lumba. As much as Dada KD’s passing pained me, Daddy Lumba’s demise hurts a hundred times more”.

Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra.

The family of the late Daddy Lumba released an official statement through his official Facebook page and confirming his passing.

Part of the statement read, “With profound sorrow and deep grief, the Fosu family announces the passing of Ghana’s beloved musical icon, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away earlier today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness”.

Meanwhile, a national candlelight vigil will be held for the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

According to reports, the candlelight vigil will be a global tribute to Daddy Lumba.
