In a statement issued on Thursday, April 24, the police confirmed Boamah’s arrest at his hideout in Namong, near Offinso, following a swift investigation.

“The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested suspect Robert Kwabena Boamah, 34, in connection with the murder of a young woman”.

The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation and is expected to be arraigned before court soon.

The police have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining the safety of residents in the region.

Maa Abena was found brutally murdered on Easter Monday at Tanoso Dominase in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District of the Ashanti Region.

Her lifeless body was discovered on the morning of April 21, 2025, lying face-down in a pool of blood along a rough, isolated road.

Preliminary police investigations revealed multiple stab wòunds on her chest and hands. At the scene, officers also found an abandoned vehicle with its keys and mobile phones left inside.

Evidence suggested there may have been a struggle inside the vehicle.

Sources close to the victim and her boyfriend indicated that when both of their numbers were dialed, the calls rang on the same device found in the car suggesting the couple may have shared a phone and were together in the vehicle.
