Global InfoAnalytics has revealed President John Dramani Mahama will still win the 2024 election rematch if held today with the same candidates as on December 7.
According to the poll conducted by Mussa Dankwah’s Global InfoAnalytics President John Dramani Mahama polled 59% of the total votes cast, showing he would enjoy a landslide victory if the elections were held today.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia managed to follow with 35% of the total votes cast.
From this poll, President Mahama managed to beat Dr. Bawumia by 24% of the total votes cast.
The other political parties and independent candidates combined polled just 6% of the votes.
Global InfoAnalytics in their post wrote, “The poll shows that if there is a rematch for the 2024 election with the same candidates today, JDM will still win by a larger landslide as the poll shows 59% support for him, while DMB will secure 35% and others 6%”.
Former President John Dramani Mahama was declared the winner of Ghana’s 2024 presidential election, securing a remarkable return to the nation’s highest office after a fierce contest.
His victory was announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) on Monday, December 9, confirming Mahama’s victory with 6,328,397 votes cast representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, defeating his primary rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes representing 41.61%.
It will be recalled the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin made a bold claim in parliament some weeks ago that if elections were held today the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would emerge victorious.
According to the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, the National Democratic Congress’ government hasn’t fulfilled their promises and they will be voted out if Ghanaians get the chance to vote now.
Afenyo-Markin made this comment while reacting to Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga’s statement that the NDC has fulfilled their promises to Ghanaians so far.
“You have not fulfilled your promises to Ghanaians. So many of the promises have not been fulfilled so what is the majority leader saying? If elections are held today the NDC will lose.”
Afenyo-Markin also dared the president and the NDC to organize a fresh election if they believed in the work they have done in government so far.
“If the NDC believes they have fulfilled their promises they should tell the president to organize an election today and they will see what will happen,” he added.
