A police officer has been caught in a viral video threatening a suspected thief who was nabbed by some residents.
According to reports, Residents nabbed two suspected thief who were reportedly posing as a taxi driver and a passenger to rob unsuspecting victims seeking to take a taxi.
In the video, the Police officer was captured aggressively questioning one of the suspects and threatening to release him to an anxious crowd if he failed to tell him the truth.
The officer stated, “Herh! Are you the one who took the phone? I am asking you a question. If you don’t tell me the truth, I will make them kill you”.
The two were arrested and handed over to personnel of the Ghana Police Service after their attempt to rob a young man failed.
Other passengers who fell victim to their operation also rushed to the scene to collect their valuables, mainly mobile phones.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to the video shared by Sika Official saying, “Imagine playing GTA in real life and still getting caught. Criminals these days got zero patch updates. They really thought they were in a Netflix heist series — until the streets said ‘Season Finale”.
“Ghanaians are generally good people with empathy. Some country them put car tire around your neck long time. Hmm”, another stated.
One user also stated, “Dem take some do me, just a day before payday. I took my salary and straight ahead went to buy a new mobile phone with it. Nothing pain me for my life pass this thing”.
Additionally, a netizen also wrote, “Herh everyday for the thief,one day for the master ampa!!! These type of thieves have robbed plenty boys I know around East Legon Upsa madina area soo many times. I know their time will come too”
“Dem for catch dem all. The police for disguise themselves as passengers too . Praying Ghana find a way to reduce these ugly stealings”, another netizen wrote.
One more X user stated, “A female colleague at work has been traumatized because if this, they even took quickloan with her number cus the amount on her was not enough, after taking everything they nearly raped her but unfortunately she was in her period”.
