Samuel Nartey George, the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations has fired shots at the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Sam George, the pain of defeat in the 2024 elections has clouded even logical minds to believe that he loses sleep over someone’s attempt to be relevant.
In a post on X, he wrote, “ A certain Sam George seems to be more powerful than even he knows.
Even when they constipate, they blame Sam George. The pain of defeat has clouded even logical minds to believe that I lose sleep over someone’s attempt to be relevant”.
Sam George further added that by the time the New Patriotic Party realised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had reduced their votes from 38 per cent in 2024 to 14.5 per cent in the 2028 elections.
He added, “ I am focused on delivering a digitally inclusive and functional ecosystem for the people of Ghana. By the time you realise, we have reduced 38% to 14.5%. For God and Country. 🦁🇬🇭”.
Some Ghanaians have shared their opinion on Sam George’s post saying, “Instead of typing this grammar which 90% of your followers don’t understand put in the work so they see it in reality and on their phones and communication devices .. the talk is too much .. show working boss !”
“Deliver with such integrity that even your fiercest critics pause, knowing patriots like us will expose their folly.
I trust you won’t let this new role erode your hard-earned reputation, that’s why, inspired by your past, we urge you: to work diligently for us, brush off the naysayers, and hold firm to your principles.
We rallied behind you because we believed, and we know you can rise to any challenge”, another stated.
A netizen also fired shots at Sam George asserting that he is now a minister and no longer in opposition so the shades are not needed, “Dzata you’re no longer in an opposition. The shades no dey need. The job diɛ you do aa we go see am. Yours is to deliver and we’ll do the dirty work for you down here”.
The NPP miserably lost the 2024 elections, according to the EC’s certified results, Mahama secured 6,591,790 votes, representing 56.42% of the total valid votes cast. His closest contender, Dr Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 4,877,611 votes, representing 41.75%.
Meanwhile, the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin at JB Danquah’s 60th remembrance Service boldly declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be back in the 2028 elections.
“Mighty minority, we shall be back 2028, we shall be back”, he stated.
Meanwhile, Sam George has been under fire after his wife’s foundation, the Dzata Foundation, held an event in partnership with MTN and Innohub.
Sam George had defended himself, stating that MTN was not a sponsor but only a partner, and he covered all costs. However, a die-hard NPP supporter, PK Sarpong finds this hard to believe. He questioned how Sam George, in less than five weeks of being appointed a minister, suddenly had enough money to fund such an event when, according to reports, his wife was the one taking care of him before his appointment.
“In less than five weeks of appointment, Sam George has so much to sponsor his wife’s event when before the appointment his wife was taking care of him. The 7th Wonder of the world is more like it,” Sarpong mocked.
His comments suggest that Sam George may not be telling the full truth about where the funding for the event came from. Many people are now asking whether he used personal funds or if state resources played a role.
