Ghanaian based US Social Commentator, Kevin Taylor has categorically stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), can prosper without Peace FM.
Dispelling the “they (NDC) needs us (Peace FM) and we need them” comment made by Kwami Sefa Kayi, Kevin Taylor stated, “The NDC doesn’t need Peace FM. The arrogance, pride and ego he had when apologizing…look at the disrespectful kind of apology he even made.”
Kevin Taylor intimated that the NDC had not been on the Kokrokoo show hosted by Kwami Sefa Kayi for five (5) years but managed to increase their seats in Parliament astronomically, an indication of how the party did not need the station to thrive.
“The NDC doesn’t need Kokrokoo. Don’t make it look like the NDC cannot do what they did if they don’t come to Kokrokoo,” he added.
He added that Kokrokoo is one of the weakest morning shows in Ghana.
The NDC boycotted the Kokrokoo show in May 2020 after describing the host, Kwami Sefa Kayi as a dictator and bias.
A statement signed by Sammy Gyamfi, said the decision was taken following the radio station’s ‘unfair paneling system that the production team of that programme has continuously foisted on the NDC over a number of months.
“The National Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to inform all its communicators, media monitors, and officials that the party has boycotted Peace (104.3) FM’s morning show (Kokrokoo) effective today, Wednesday, 6th May 2020”, Sammy Gyamfi, said in the statement.
The NDC further stated that all efforts to get the producers and host of the programme to replace the former NDC Central regional chairman of the party Allotey Jacobs with a fair-minded NDC member had proved futile, indicating that “the party continues to be treated with utmost contempt.
Five (5) years down the line with the NDC in power now, Kwami Sefa Kayi has apologized to the party and asked them to empanel its communicators on the show, a plea members of the NDC have rejected and called on the party hierarchy to ignore.
