The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has handed an indefinite ban to Nsoatreman FC following the violent clashes during the Ghana Premier League fixture between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Koramansah Park on February 2, 2025.
As part of immediate measures, the GFA Executive Committee has invoked Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations, placing an indefinite ban on Nsoatreman FC’s home venue.
“This action ensures the safety of all stakeholders while investigations proceed,” the statement noted.
With this ban, Nsoatreman FC will not be able to play any home game at the Nana Koramansah Park in the foreseeable future.
The clash resulted in the death of Kotoko diehard fan, Nana Pooley, multiple injuries and the destruction of property.
The GFA has described the events as “an unacceptable blemish on the integrity of our game” and extended its heartfelt condolences to Nana Pooley’s family and persons injured during the clashes.
The Security Committee and the GFA’s prosecutors have been tasked to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident and present to the FA’s Disciplinary Committee for adjudication of all sporting matters.
The GFA has also engaged the Ghana Police Service to conduct a full-scale investigation into the violent incidents.
