An overwhelming number of Ghanaians have expressed disappointment in the performance of Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin on the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
A whooping sixty-four percent (64%) of Ghanaians are displeased with how he has conducted himself in the vetting of ministerial nominees.
This number was revealed in a poll conducted by Global Info Analytics between January 30 and February 1, 2025.
Generally, 44% of respondents were “not satisfied at all” with Afenyo Markin’s performance, while an additional 20% expressed general dissatisfaction. In contrast, only 8% of respondents reported being “extremely satisfied” with his role in the vetting process.
This poll goes a long way to convey the feelings of dissatisfaction and concern over the way and manner in which the Appointments Committee is executing its mandate.
The dissatisfaction with Afenyo-Markin’s performance comes also at a time where members of the Appointments Committee misconducted themselves during vetting which led to the suspension of 4
