The National Sports Authority (NSA) boss of the Ashanti Region, Kwame Baa Mensa was attacked by unknown persons at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium yesterday, January 9, 2025.
His attackers accosted him and demanded he hand over keys to his office and official vehicle.
The attack is alleged to be one orchestrated by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region.
However in the midst of hooting and chants, Kwame Baa Mensa was safely escorted off the premises by the swift intervention of some Police officers.
The same thugs who attaked Kwame Baa Mensa are reportedly the same people who today stormed the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, forcibly evicted employees from their offices, and locked the premises.
This incident follows a similar attempts by alleged NDC supporters to take over the offices some government institutions.
While the minority has charged President John Dramani Mahama to quickly call the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party faithful to order, President John Dramani Mahama, has also admonished the youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against invading and attempting to takeover state owned institutions.
The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has also strongly condemned such actions, and dismissed claims linking NDC members to these incidents.
He has also called on party supporters to report any suspicious or unlawful activities to the appropriate authorities.
Some citizens have also called on the police to keep a close eye on state institutions to prevent such attacks.
