Cassiel Ato Baah Forson is a Ghanaian politician and member of parliament from 2009 to date.

The Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam has been named by President John Mahama as the finance minister-designate.

Ato Forson was born on 5 August, 1978.

He first joined the fifth parliament of Ghana’s Fourth Republic, he has since retained his seat representing the  Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency in the Central Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

Ato Forson is an Economist, Chartered Accountant, and Tax Practitioner with extensive experience in public finance, macroeconomics, fiscal policy, tax policy, and business management.

A five-term lawmaker, Dr Forson holds a PhD in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Master of Science degrees in Taxation and Economics from the University of Oxford and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, respectively.

He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from London South Bank University.
