Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, the finance minister-designate, has told the minority leader Afenyo Markin, he is his senior and must learn from him and be good.
Ato Forson revealed he planned to enter parliament with Afenyo Markin, but he lost his primaries, and he won.
According to Ato Forson, everyone knows the relationship between them, but that does not stop them from doing their work.
Ato Forson made these remarks to Alexander Afenyo-Markin during a light moment at his vetting yesterday, January 13, 2025.
He stated, “Myself and the minority leader have a history, we planned to enter this chamber together unfortunately on his first attempt he could not make it, I made it, he lost the primaries, and I won.”
“Today I am one term older than him, Mr. Chairman I am his senior, he is older than me by just four months, the same year we are two constituencies a part we used to do private sector business before we all entered here. We have known ourselves growing up,” he added.
Ato Forson further revealed, “Everyone knows the relationship between us, but working with him didn’t stop me from doing my work, and it didn’t stop him from doing his work and so we may have relationships but it should not stop you from doing your work, you should work for God and country, and we have to do it for the best of intention to help our country grow”.
“We had our moment, we fought, we united ourselves today the tables have turned he is now the minority leader Kwamena learn from me and be good”, he boldly stated.
