Ken Attafuah to hand over NIA to Yahya Koku after sacking him 8 years ago

Prof. Kenneth Attafuah the former NIA Executive Secretary is set to hand over to Mr. Wisdom Yayra Koku Deku after sacking him 8 years ago.

Yahya Koku has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Identification Authority (NIA) by President Mahama.

His appointment comes following the retirement of Prof. Kenneth Attafuah, who stepped down as NIA Executive Secretary last year.

In a post on X, Mr. Deku stated, “This can only be God. Thank you, President John Dramani Mahama, for recognizing my potential and giving me the opportunity to serve. The journey ahead is exciting, and I can’t wait to dive in and make a difference. A significant difference.”

“The job has just started. I will make you all proud with God on our side”, he added.

Yahya Koku, career journey with the NIA started in 2008 as a temporary Technical Officer.

Meanwhile, President John Mahama in a statement revoked the appointment of Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah with immediate effect.

However, according to Prof. Ken Attafuah, he has stepped down as NIA Executive Secretary since last year.
