A renewed communal clash has left a 43-year-old Mrs. Naomi Foligah hospitalized and houses burnt in Nkwanta South municipality of the Oti Region.
The incident which occured on Wednesday night at Tuobodon,a sub community in the Nkwanta South has sent shock waves through the community and raised concerns about escalating tensions in the Municipal.
Information gathered by class news indicates that,two houses were set ablaze during the clash.
Information gathered indicates that, Madam Naomi was protecting her children when the bullets hit her below the breast and she was rushed to St. Joseph Catholic hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
In recent years, Nkwanta south has recorded lots of innocent deaths due to a litigation desputes among some tribes within the municipality.
Since last year, the Nkwanta south municipality has been under curfew due to the unrest clashes.
This has also led to a halt on education and some government offices locked to save lives.
Currently,some residents have fled the community to save their lives .
Efforts by the authorities to end the communal clash yielded no positive results hence the current clash.
Meanwhile,it is unknown what exactly triggered this particular clash resulting to shooting a s burning of houses.
Security personnel, including the Ghana police service,The Ghana Army Forces and fire service struggled to contain the flames which has already destroyed the structures.
The Nkwanta Divisional police Command has since launched an investigation into the matter and urged residents to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate the situation.
