The vetting of Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa may last for six (6) straight days.
A social media on X, @sayhameed made this assertion on his page, following the nomination of Okudzeto Ablakwa as Foreign Affairs Minister.
President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the third batch of Ministerial appointees for parliamentary approval.
The statement signed by Ag. Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu announcing the nomination read, “The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has submitted the names of the underlisted to Parliament, through the Speaker, for prior approval to serve as Ministers of State and Regional Ministers.”
It is believed Okudzeto Ablakwa’s vetting will be a grueling one as he was on the neck of the erstwhile New Patriotic Party (NPP) and kept them in check.
With Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and some notable New Patriotic Party (NPP) members on the vetting committee, it is believed he will lead the intense grilling of Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Okudzeto Ablakwa is also the Chairperson of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee established by President John Dramani Mahama.
The ORAL committee which is already in contention and has been disapproved by the minority may also come up during the vetting, possibly contributing to making Okudzeto’s vetting one of the longest.
