X user K. Baffour® (@LouieXiii131) has sparked a new wave of controversy with a pointed tweet criticizing Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s public association with the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Baffour tweeted:
“NDC, NDC, NDC!!! Did we not learn anything in our 8-year stay in opposition? Why should someone like Woyome, whose scandal John Mahama and the NDC suffered an axe for, be seen openly frolicking around them on live TV? What message are we sending?”
This criticism comes on the heels of Woyome’s public defense of the Ablekuma North election results. Speaking to the media at the Tesano Police Station following a misunderstanding between the NPP and NDC, Woyome refuted claims made by the Electoral Commission (EC) that the results were declared under duress by the NDC.
He emphasized that the EC, led by Jean Mensa, had no legal standing to make such a claim, especially since the declaration took place in the presence of the police and the media.
“There’s been a declaration already, particularly in Greater Accra North. What are they coming to do tomorrow? What position does the law take in this matter?” Woyome questioned. He further insisted that if anyone believed the results were declared under duress, the proper course of action was to take the matter to court.
Baffour’s tweet, alongside Woyome’s recent statements, has reignited debate about the business mogul’s role in the ongoing political landscape, particularly his association with the NDC amid the party’s history of scandals.
