President-elect, John Dramani Mahama has revealed that some decisions might be unpleasant but will be in the national interest.
John Mahama noted that sometimes when one is sick, he needs to take bitter medicine to get well.
According to him, his four-year term is a legacy term before his retirement.
Speaking when the leadership of the Church of Pentecost visited him, John Mahama stated, “Some decisions might be unpleasant, it will all be in the national interest because sometimes you are sick, and sometimes you have to take very bitter medicine to get well”.
“So, it is not everything that we will do that must be pleasing to the people, but whatever we do must be in the National interest, whether it is pleasant or unpleasant it must be in the national interest, for me is the guiding principle”, he emphasized.
John Mahama further added, “For me, this is a legacy term, four years, I want to give this country my best going into retirement knowing that we have created a platform, we have reset our country so that the next generation can come and take it and build up upon it”.
“I need all the prayers, all the encouragement that we need in our language in twi they say not all the wisdom is in one head, it takes all to come together to be able to do what is right, so I will be very open to ideas from all manners of people including from our opponents”, he added.
