A ravaging inferno has destroyed more than six wooden structures and seven rented apartments in the Poultry Farm area near the North Ofankor barrier.
The blaze, which broke out around noon on Saturday, left the affected structures which housed various goods and small businesses, have been reduced to ashes.
According to an eyewitness named Sister Abenaa, a yam seller who witnessed the incident, reported that the fire was caused by a gas explosion.
She described seeing heavy smoke coming from a kiosk owned by a woman and her husband.
When she rushed to the scene to alert others, the fire had already spread uncontrollably.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is still investigating the incident.
