During his time at school, the lady supported him by cooking meals in bulk and bought a refrigerator and microwave oven for her lover, against her mother’s advise.

When he got to his 3rd year in school, the lady took a loan from her school to rent a bigger apartment and moved in with her lover. One thing led to another and she became pregnant, a pregnancy her lover convinced her to abort as “they were not emotionally and financially available for a child.”

Her lover finally graduated from the university and was amongst the only four (4) students who bagged a first class in his department. From his stellar performance, he was recommended to offer his national service at Zenith Bank by one of his professor’s and received a contract to work in the bank after his service.

It was from here that things went haywire for the lady. She discovered her lover was having an affair with another lady who was pregnant for him and had promised her marriage. To add salt to the injury, the young man went ahead to deny his lover (narrator) to the other woman.

Unable to take the embarrassment any further, she confronted him after which he admitted to having been unfaithful to her, but still promised to get married to her.

The narrator who was pained decided to end the relationship, only for the young man to agree and send her a compensation amount of Ghc10,000, an amount her mother quickly asked her to return.

He further moved out from the apartment they shared but paid an additional 3 years rent for the lady. However, the memories and pain in the house made it impossible for her to continue staying there.
According to her narration, the young man got married last year and now has a son, while she is yet to pick up the pieces of my life and trying to move forward.
“Soon, I’d complete school and I’m hoping to be posted to a good school. Life still has to be lived,” she ended her sad story.
