Students of the Nandom Boys Senior High School in the Upper West Region are protesting against the food shortage in their schools.
In a viral video that has surfaced on social media, the students were captured energetically protesting the lack of food.
The students mostly dressed in their white shirts and Khaki trousers were heard continuously shouting saying, “ No Food, No prep”.
The Nandom Boys Senior High School was the first school to receive a donation of 1,138 tablets from the Ministry of Education under the government’s “1 Student: 1 Tablet” policy initiative.
But today they are in the news for the wrong reasons as they protest the shortage of food in their school.
Senior High School across the country continues to battle with serious food shortages, with students being forced to eat the same meals up to three times daily.
Meanwhile, Hon Ablakwa revealed last week that a crony company was allowed to criminally re-package over 22,000 50kg bags of expired and contaminated rice into different 50kg bags without expiry dates under the full protection of NPP political heavyweights which was distributed to Free SHS schools across Ghana.
In a statement to the press on Monday, November 18, Ablakwa, speaking on behalf of the Minority in Parliament, demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the directors of Lamens Investments. He also called for sanctions against the National Food Buffet Stock leadership.
