Rockson Nelson Dafeamakpor, the member of parliament for South Dayi has dragged the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin to court.

According to the writ filed on Monday, November 4 by the MP, he is seeking a declaration that recalling parliament while the status of the four vacant seats is unknown.

Rockson Dafeamakpor argued that the four MPs’ applications at the Electoral Commission to go as independent candidates, means they have vacated their seats.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has summoned the House to reconvene on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

Speaker Bagbin had declared the seats for Fomena, Amenfi Central, Suhum, and Agona West vacant, igniting fierce backlash from the Majority caucus, which argued that the Speaker’s actions undermined their representation.
