NPP MPs are mounting pressure on Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin to announce a precise date to recall the house.

The request is in line with the statutory 7-day period following their petition to for an emergency recall of the house which elapses today.

It will be recalled that barely 24 hours after Speaker Bagbin adjourned the house, sine die on Tuesday October 22, 2024, the NPP MPs led by Second Deputy Chief Whip, Alex Tetteh Djornobuah, triggered Article 112 of the constitution, and the standing orders 53 (1) and (2), 57 and 58 for an emergency recall for urgent parliamentary business.

Meanwhile, speaker Alban Bagin in a meeting with a five-member delegation of the Council of State yesterday assured that he will recall the house in early November.

However, the NPP MPs are unsatisfied.
