Young and budding Ghanaian musician, Safo Newman, has disclosed he was advised by certain elements in the Ghanaian music scene to use hard drugs.
According to him, these suggestions were made in a bid to boost his confidence on stage.
Regardless of these pieces of advice from industry players, the young man is resolute and has refused to let them influence him negatively.
“People have actually recommended that I should do some of these things [drugs] so that I will go wild [on stage].”
“I won’t be doing that. I don’t think I can do that,” he told Andy Dosty in an interview.
Safo Newman indicated that a lot of people have criticized him for being an introvert, saying that does not match up with his chosen career path. The young chap is however unperturbed as he insists different people have different temperaments.
Safo Newman received immense recognition following the release of his song, ‘Akokoa’ earlier this year.
The musician has been criticized and in some instances ridiculed for his sense of fashion and dullness on stage.
