According to the MP, the alleged scheme is aimed at rigging the December 7, 2024, parliamentary elections.

In the petition, filed through his legal counsel, Dr. Paitoo alleges that Mr. Asemanyi recently held a private meeting with three EC officials, including Amadu Salia Issahaku, at the Gomoa East Constituency Office. During the meeting, Mr. Asemanyi is accused of offering a substantial amount of money to the officials, urging them to use their positions to influence the election in his favor.
