Former Environment, Science and Technology Minister under Akufo-Addo, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng says the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia lacks emotional attachment to the NPP.
Professor Boateng whose report on illegal mining left the government and the NPP cracked has described that the party he knows and is a member of does not look the same at it was when President Kuffuor was actively leading it. He mentioned that even though the NPP is contesting, he seem not to have a feeling that his party is on the ballot box.
According to him, as much as the Vice President who is running for presidency on the NPP ticket appears a good man and has got the whole rank and file of the NPP supporting and rallying behind him, he feels Dr. Bawumia is not emotionally attached to the elephant party. He also shared that before the Vice President was selected to become a running mate for President Akufo-Addo, Bawumia was not even a member of the party, hence his reason for saying he is not emotionally attached.
He further revealed that, the selection of Bawumia as Akufo-Addo’s running mate met various disagreement and rejection within the party but the decision was eventually given a nod. He added that, the Vice President has not really proven to Ghanaians and the NPP the quality he is made of with his knowledge and that is the only problem he has with him.
