Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has demanded an explanation for the unfulfilled promise by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to provide taxis for Okada riders.

Dr. Bawumia had pledged to launch a “Car for Okada Initiative,” promising a safer alternative for Okada riders, but nearly eight years into the NPP government, no such initiative has been implemented.

Labeling Bawumia a “liar,” Asiedu Nketia expressed his frustration at the lack of action on the promise made to Okada riders.

He made these comments during a campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, where he reiterated the NDC’s stance on legalizing Okada riding to allow riders to operate without interference from the police.

Kwadwo Addai Dapaah, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Bantama, also addressed the gathering, urging constituents to vote for the NDC in the upcoming December elections.

He highlighted several policies the NDC intends to implement that would positively impact the lives of the people in the Bantama constituency.
