Speaking during a climate change procession organized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, he emphasized that trees play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide and reducing harmful pollutants in the environment.

Kassim encouraged individuals to plant at least one tree in their homes or offices, highlighting that this simple action can contribute significantly to climate change mitigation.

He stressed that while there are various measures to address climate change, fostering a culture of tree planting is vital.

Additionally, he urged the public to utilize public transportation and reduce reliance on personal vehicles to decrease carbon emissions.

“The fewer cars on our roads, the less emissions we release into the atmosphere,” he noted, reinforcing the collective responsibility to protect the environment.
