John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has firmly stated that he will not allow same-sex marriage or LGBTQ rights under his administration.
Addressing the issue during a meeting with clergy at the De Icon Event Center in East Legon, Accra, he emphasized that his faith opposes same-sex marriages and that he believes in the natural order of creation.

Mahama expressed his views clearly, stating, “I don’t believe that a man can wake up and say he feels like a woman so he wants to change his sex to a woman; I don’t think that is right.”

He further asserted that his beliefs do not permit same-sex relationships, human-animal relationships, or gender changes as individuals may wish.
