All discrepancies in provisional voters register corrected – Jean Mensa

Jean Mensa the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission has stated that all discrepancies in the provisional register for the upcoming polls have been corrected.

Speaking at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on October 1, 2024, Jean Mensa said, “As a Commission, we can confidently state that most of the discrepancies discovered to date have been resolved. It is important to note that the discrepancies initially identified in the provisional voters’ register cut across all regions”.

She added that assertions that the discrepancies in the provisional voters’ register were aimed at disenfranchising voters in certain parts of the country are untrue.

“We have cleaned up the provisional voters’ register and corrected all discrepancies identified to date”, The EC chair reiterated.

The Electoral Commission also stated they are committed to transparency and accountability in the 2024 elections.
