PPP to sue EC over disqualification

National Chair of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Nana Ofori Owusu has disclosed the party’s plans to sue the Electoral Commission (EC) over their disqualification.

The EC disqualified the PPP from contesting in 2024 December, 7 elections, citing errors in forms filed as the reason.

Out of the 24 presidential aspirants who filed nominations, the PPP was amongst the 11 who were disqualified by the EC.

Nana Ofori Owusu, says the EC did not give them a hearing on the reason for their disqualification. “They did not give me the opportunity to correct or be heard,” he said in an intervie

“My right has been truncated, they did not even give us a hearing,” he added. The party wishes to seek legal redress as the EC refused to give them the needed regard.
