As the upcoming elections approach, a palpable tension fills the air, with many expressing their concerns.

Discussions among voters are dominated by the struggling economy, with rising food prices and unemployment leading to skepticism about the ruling party’s promises.

One concerned citizen voiced his frustration: “Even if the Bible and Quran are burnt in a ritual for Bawumia, he will still lose.”

He highlighted significant achievements of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during its time in government, such as the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy and the expansion of healthcare services through the National Health Insurance Scheme.

 

However, he is troubled by the controversial cathedral project, which many view as a misuse of public funds while pressing issues remain unaddressed.

“The NPP used taxpayers’ money 58 million dollars to start the national cathedral project, which has turned into a swimming pool.”

Additionally, rampant illegal mining (galamsey) has raised alarms, demanding accountability and sustainable solutions to protect the environment and local communities.

“The government can’t keep making empty promises while we struggle to make ends meet.”
