Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club, Aboubakar Ouattara, has pleaded with the club’s fans to stop insulting them when the team fails to win matches.

According to him, the insults meted on the playing body and technical team are sometimes extreme, affecting morale in the camp.

The coach, who understands how sentimental Ghanaians are about football, indicated that fans have the right to criticise the team to any extent they choose, but they should desist from insulting players and the technical team.

Black Stars will play in the finals of the 2026 World Cup – Nigel Gaisie boldly predicts

“We’re working for them [supporters]. I understand when they criticise us. You can criticise us and say anything you like, but please do not insult [us]. What we need is unity. We need to stay together, and if that happens, I think we can achieve a lot,” he told the press on Sunday.

The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is ongoing, and Hearts of Oak’s performance has been abysmal with back to back defeats.

The Phobians, however, managed to win Sunday, September 22, game against Bechem United on matchday three at the University of Ghana Stadium.
