Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh affectionately called Napo, has appealed to the people of Akwatia to vote for the NPP in the upcoming December 7, 2024 polls.
Addressing the people of Akwatia during a rally, he pointed out the fact that Akwatia voted Baba Jamal as their Member of Parliament (MP) in the past, showing they have no qualms with a Muslim being Ghana’s president.
“We all need to join forces and vote for Bawumia (as president). Who says that in Ghana we cannot vote for a Muslim to be president? Didn’t you vote for Baba Jamal here? Wasn’t he a Muslim? You only voted him out of office because he failed to deliver development to Akwatia and not because he was a Muslim,” he told party folks gathered.
Napo intimated that the December 7, 2024 polls was not an election for clerics or religious leaders, “we are going to vote for someone who will make it possible for us to secure loans.”
