Member of Parliament for Nsawam- Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot sorely be blamed for the polluted water bodies in the country.
According to the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polluted the water more than what they have done since 2017.
The country over the weekend was awaken to the state of the water bodies after the Ghana Water Company released a statement saying that rivers degraded due to galamsey activities are the cause of the shortage of clean water in the Central Region and others areas.
Speaking at the emergency sitting of Parliament aimed at looking for solutions for the problem, Frank Annoh Dompreh said they are ready to debate to show that the NDC polluted the water more than the NPP.
“We will debate this matter and the culprit will be mentioned, in fact we are ready to debate this right now. You (NDC) have had the opportunity to rule this county before and I can tell you polluted the water more than us,” Annoh Dompreh said on the floor of Parliament.
