President Akufo-Addo has expressed appreciation to the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II for immensely being a support to his eight years governance.
He paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene during his Thank You tour in his Ashanti Region where he commissioned four district and Municipal hospitals among other infrastructures. He mentioned how his government has immensely benefited from the timely interventions of Otumfuor during difficult moments.
He highlighted the involvement of the Otumfuor in the peace pact that resolved the longest Dagbon Chieftaincy conflict which had taken three successful presidents to try resolving. He also expressed appreciation to the Asantehene for his voice during the country’s return to the IMF for support when the economy hit rocks due to the Covid pandemic.
President Akufo-Addo began his governance in 2017 after a historic victory of the then incumbent President Mahama in the 2016 general elections. He was handed a second term after defeating candidate Mahama again in the 2020 elections. He is currently ending his two constitutional terms and hoping the nation will give the continuation of governance to his Vice President, Dr. Bawumia.
