Well-versed media personality David Kwaku Sakyi has questioned President Akufo-Addo’s government on its handling of environmental issues, saying, “You came to meet Ghana, yet you’re destroying it who will face the mess you leave behind?” Speaking on channel one TV , Sakyi criticized the “selfish few” who prioritize profit over the nation’s well-being.
He emphasized that the government, which has the mandate and capacity to enforce existing laws, bears significant responsibility for the ongoing destruction.
“Right now, the mining law 2462 is still in effect, allowing illegal activities in forest reserves. It’s unacceptable,” he stated.
Sakyi condemned what he described as “irresponsible mining” practices that threaten Ghana’s natural resources.
He urged the government to take action, stressing that future generations will suffer the consequences of the current administration’s negligence.
“You came to meet Ghana, but you are destroying it. Think about it,” he concluded.
