A Ghanaian lady, Sahadatu has narrated how she collapsed after being scammed an amount over GHC 30,000 by a fake U.S Marine Engineer she met on Facebook.
Narrating her story to Crime Check, Sahadatu, who worked as a house help in Dubai came into contact with unsuspecting Ghanaian man by name Sadat, who posed as a United States Marine Engineer on Facebook. After months of constant conversation over the internet, the two grew fond of each other and planned on getting married.
According to her Sadat, introduced her to his alleged mother who was able to convince her to travel down to Ghana to prepare for their marriage. After a successful conviction, Sahadatu left her job in Dubai to come meet her supposed in-law.
In a bid to get her more convinced, Sadat told her, he has shipped a container loaded with everything needed for their marriage ceremony, she only needed to pay GHC 30,000 to get them when it arrives. She mentioned that after paying half of the money, she was made to pay more than half remaining because, the alleged driver of the container claimed the goods had been ceased by the Customs Officers.
After waiting for what seemed forever and coming into realization that she had been scammed, she found herself hitting hard on the floor, collapsing.
