Popular Ghanaian comedian, DKB, who recently endorsed presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the upcoming 2024 election is currently receiving backlash from the party and public for the advert he created explaining their 24 hour economy policy.
Expressing his regret in a post on social media, he noted that he was only trying to support the party by attempting to explain the party’s policy through the video which has unfortunately gone against him.
“But it’s serious o, just a skit to communicate how I understand the 24 hour economy has turned to a problem. Franklin Cudjoe, Gabby Otchere have all come to say some. Oh seniors and you’ve betrayed me like that?”he said.
“I woke up this morning too I’ve receiving it left, right, center, with an official letter from NDC. That’s what even hurts me the most. But it’s fine. I still love JM and I believe the 24 hour economy will happen” he added.
According to the comedian, he did not expect the video to meet as much ridicule as it did on social media as it was aimed to convey that businesses and banking institutions would operate around the clock, but netizens interpreted the message differently which has led to the widespread criticism.
The NDC in response has however issued a statement asking for sympathizers to contact their National Communications Bureau for clearance and guidance before producing campaign adverts.
