Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) attempted to use the Supreme Court to prevent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from being the majority in parliament because they knew the outcome in advance.
He claims the NPP has filled the Supreme Court with its minions, having confidence every decision sent to the Supreme Court will come out in their favor.
Speaking to the press after the indefinite adjournment of parliament, he borrowed the East African proverb which goes, ”When an armed robber or a thief tells you to go to court it is because his brother is the judge.”
Ahead of the today’s sitting, the Speaker described the NDC as the Majority group following the declaration of 4 seats vacant.
The former Majority group, the NPP took the speaker’s decision to Supreme Court, which put a stay on the speaker’s decision.
The Speaker has also filed an appeal at the Supreme Court to stay its orders regarding Parliament’s ruling to declare four parliamentary seats vacant.
