Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has openly criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration’s claim of constructing over 12,000 kilometers of roads across Ghana.
During his address at Bunkrugu, as part of the North East Regional campaign tour, he expressed disappointment at the poor state of roads in the North East Region, which is Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s home region. Ofosu Ampofo pointed out the stark contrast between the Eastern Region,
where President Akufo Addo is from, and the North East Region, highlighting that most roads in the Eastern region are motorable, including Kyebi, the President’s hometown, which is asphalted.
In contrast, Dr. Bawumia has failed to construct a single asphalt road in the North East Region during his eight-year tenure.¹
Ofosu Ampofo emphasized that the Vice President has abandoned his people and neglected the region’s road infrastructure development.
He urged the electorate in the North East Region to vote for the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, who has a superior record of developing the country.
Ofosu Ampofo believes Mahama will bring development to the region if elected in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
