The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akufo Dampare, has pledged a robust security strategy to ensure peace during the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking at an engagement with the Civil Forum Initiative (CFI) in Accra on Tuesday, IGP Dampare warned that any individuals attempting to disrupt the electoral process would face severe consequences.
He emphasized that in collaboration with other security agencies, they are committed to maintaining law and order throughout the election period.
To ensure a peaceful election process, the Ghana Police Service has met with the Executives of the Civil Forum Initiative to discuss their preparedness.
Speaking to Adom News, Dr. Dampare emphasized, “No individual or group will be allowed to undermine the nation’s peace.
Extensive measures have been put in place to guarantee peaceful elections.”
He further stated, “Those identified in connection with election-related crimes will be pursued and brought to justice.”
Dr. Dampare also called on the public to support efforts for a peaceful election, urging everyone to cooperate with the security agencies to maintain order.
