A former Deputy Director of Communications of the NDC, Anthony Kwaku Boahen has claimed the NDC won in all ‘galamsey’ mining sites in the 2020 elections.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been criticized by many Ghanaians in recent months for their posture in the fight against galamsey, many NPP Bigwigs have suggested that they lost so many seats in mining commutates due to their galamsey fight before the 2020 election and are now unwilling to fight galamsey with just a month to the 2024 elections.
Speaking on UTV show, the former deputy director of communication of the NDC Anthony Kwaku Boahen has claimed that he worked hard to get miners to vote for the NDC in the 2020 election.
Kwaku Boahen said, “I went to the miners and spoke to them, and they came to vote, mining sites in Ghana we won in 2020, I heard Sammi Awuku say the work I Kwaku Boahen did at sites was not a small job that made them lose, almost all the mining sites they lost”.
He stated boldly that he would be going back to the mining sites again to solicit votes because, during the campaign period, illegal miners were in the forest.

This is the deputy general secretary of NDC. No remorse whatsoever for encouraging people go engage in the galamsey that’s destroying our water bodies. He did last 4 years and has promised to do same this year cause it was a political capital for his party. Only God is truthful. pic.twitter.com/lstzMvCEzd
