A former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Yaa Jantuah has said Ghanaians need to write a letter to US President Joe Biden reporting the Akufo-Addo administration for destroying the country water bodies through galamsey.
Nana Yaa Jantuah stated, “We need to write a letter to Joe Biden and report the NPP to him. We need to let him know how the ruling party is bent on destroying this country”.
Speaking in an interview with Kingdom FM stated Ghana needs help in the fight against illegal mining.
She said, “We have an American military base here in Ghana, so we need them to help us fight the galamsey issues. Just like the US helped Ukraine during their war with Russia. Aside from America, we can seek help from the United Nations or even ECOWAS because we are part of it.”
Meanwhile, The Ghana Water Company has stated on numerous time they are unable to treat the water for its consumers due to the turbidity of the water from this galamsey affected rivers, forcing the company’s treatment plant in some regions to shut down on some occasions.
