A former member of parliament has praised Haruna Iddrisu, the current MP for Tamale South, for his unwavering support in taking care of their medical bills.
“He pays our dues and hospital bills. I just returned from the hospital, and this morning he came to cover my expenses,” the former MP stated.
He emphasized the critical role Mr Iddrisu plays in caring for former MPs, noting, “If not for him, many of us would have suffered greatly.
Over the past eight years, 27 former MPs have passed away, and we struggle to afford our medical needs.”
The former MP expressed frustration about salary cuts imposed by the government, adding, “We haven’t received our full salaries, and former MPs are actively advocating for the government to address this issue.
We are facing serious challenges, and without Haruna’s support, many more of us would be gone.”
