A viral video has surfaced of the host of Good Morning Ghana, Dr. Randy Abbey, fighting off police officers who reportedly accompanied the armed men to disrupt a live show broadcast on Metro TV earlier today.
In the viral video shared by Olele Salvador on X, Randy Abbey was spotted in a tense exchange questioning some officers of the Ghana Police Service about a court order they claim justified their actions to storm METRO TV.
According to Randy Abbey, they had to go for an abrupt break due to the incident and viewers could still hear the noises of the commotion in their live broadcast.
Speaking during the live broadcast of Good Morning Ghana, Randy Abbey revealed, “You realized that we had an abrupt break, we actually took a break, maybe you can still hear some noise out there, it has to do with some armed men, armed policemen and other persons who were trying to forcibly enter the studio here”.
“We do not know what it is for, but they were trying to forcibly enter the studio, and our private security is trying to prevent them and a couple of them are injured”, he added.
Randy Abbey further detailed, “I am sure our people have tried to reach the police, but we are here with some police men, I don’t know why they are here and why they forcibly wanted to enter this particular studio in the middle of a live show”.
A similar situation happened last year on Saturday, October 7, 2023, when an alleged thug affiliated with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) stormed the studios of UTV and abruptly halted the live broadcast of United Showbiz.
