Black Stars Coach, Otto Addo was in a heated argument with a Ghanaian journalist over his credentials after the team lost to Niger in a 2:1 defeat at the Accra Sports stadium in their final 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers match.
The journalist was furious at Otto Addo who sought to justify his performance and qualifications rather than apologize for his abysmal performance in the campaign, and engaged in a heated banter with the coach.
In a video now trending on social media, Otto Addo can be heard saying he has “twelve years (experience) in coaching and six months of scouting. Now I ask you what am I?”
The journalist in response to Otto Addo said, “Then I think you scouting is better than you coaching. So, you are good at scouting than coaching. Because in coaching you are not good at all.”
Otto Addo could be seen attempting to respond to the journalist’s assertion but had his microphone switched off so he did not incur further the wrath of Ghanaians.
The Black Stars’ failure to qualify for AFCON 2025 marks a historic low for Ghanaian football, prompting widespread criticism of the team’s performance and its leadership of the GFA.
Ghanaians have also called for the dismissal of Otto Addo saying he does not qualify to be Ghana’s coach.
