A man who gave his only name as Sammy for the sake of confidentiality has shared his sad ordeal on how he was deported from America to Ghana after staying and living there for 17 years.
In an interview with Kofi Adomah Nwanwani on Kofi T.V, Big Sam as he affectionately said he should be called, shared that he got an opportunity to travel for an exchange programme in America and styed after applying for a waiver when his Visa expired. He said he had to get involved in what he described as “under the table” lifestyle, which allowed him work and get paid over the table without getting paid. He did that because his visa had expired.
According to him, in 2007 he attained his green card status in America after marriage and began living a legal life and working legally. He recounted having issues with his wife years after marriage after visiting Ghana. He got introduced to a single lady to start a new relationship through a friend he trained at a golf course in America.
He shared that after a period of relationship with his new lady, an incident happened that made him find his way to a party organized by his friend who introduced him to the new lady. After a moment of partying and drinking he decided to make out with his new lady which ended in resistance until after some months he received a call from the Denver Police station to report for interrogations.
Big Sam recounts how the lady recorded the session they had that resulted in the resistance only to share with the police and accuse him of sexual harassment which later ended in him being arrested. He got sentenced for 24 months after accepting a condition from the state Attorney to reduce his jail terms.
After being discharged serving 90 days, American Immigration arrested and detained him for three months and eventually deported him to the country on the basis of not fully attaining the citizenship status after marriage completely and committing crime.
